About the team

The team is built of 6 people from Hillcrest, 3 from Falls Community Church, 3 from Sudan and 1 from Nairobi. Each person has an important part to play and a specific role on the team.

From Hillcrest Church  
Doug Bartel
Doug Bartel (Pastor) – Doug is responsible for project development, team building, team oversight, spiritual oversight, evangelistic efforts and assisting in worship services, manual labor in relationship to the farm, general assistance.
Darren Davis
Darren Davis (local farmer) – Darren is responsible for the Farming God’s Way training here at home and in the field, seed and tool acquisition, farming experience, test plot organizer and builder.

Darwin Gramstad






Darwin Gramstad (nurse anesthetist) – Darwin is responsible for the teams medical care, village medical assessment, seasoned leadership oversight, manual labor in relationship to the farm, general assistance.
Cheri Guse
Cheri Guse (elder of outreach) – Cheri is responsible for outreach leadership, trip documentary, blog manager, video and picture taking, journaling, as well as satellite phone communication.








Ben Payne
 Ben Payne (Worship Pastor) – Ben is responsible for the travel and logistics coordinator, staff leadership, assist with team oversight as well as pre trip planning, mechanical expertise, and assist in worship services, manual labor in relationship to the farm, general assistance.






Deena Perry
Deena Perry (nurse) – Deena is responsible for the teams medical care, village medical assessment, and is our culture immersion liaison.








From Falls Community Church  
Julius Badigo
Julius Badigo – Pastor of Falls Community Church, president of Sudanese Community Corporation in Sioux Falls.
Chris Lomatayo– Leader in Falls Community Church

Musa Muye – Chairman of Falls Community Church

In Sudan   
Elisapa Hakim Badigo– Julius’ father, who lives in Khartoum and will arrive in Southern Sudan 3 weeks prior to our arrival to assist with our accomodations and preparation of the mission site. 
Right Taban
Right Taban Patrick – Friend of Pastor Julius, works at Hotel Paradise in Juba and will also help us with the preparations in the field. Right is a very administratively minded individual and is very valuable to the western mentality of our team.
Ambrose – Julius’ cousin, hired driver for the team that lives in Juba
Isadeen – Musa’s brother-in-law, owns his own transportation company in Juba and will be a driver for team as well as securing vehicles.
