We have been on the road for 3 hours and we are 2/3 the way there. The road is extremely rough, I mean seriously rough!
We are all soar, it's 95 degrees out, there's no a/c, we didn't have lunch and our water is hotter that the outside temp but we feel great. This has been a long journey of many hours. Praise God we are so excited to meet our new friends.

Hillcrest Church and Falls Community Church have joined together to bring the Gospel as well as humanitarian aid to a remote village in Southern Sudan. The people of Southern Sudan have been devastated by the long civil war and genocide over religious freedom. Food security is the most important need in the area we are traveling to. We are going to help the village of Kalalayi build a farm that can sustain the village and produce enough extra as to sell in the local markets.

I was thinking of something smart to say about how this bus ride is like life's long bumby journey, you know - another sermon illustration - but hey didn't you just go to Pastor Rambo Bootcamp and have all your sermons fopr 2011 lined up and in the bag? - so nevermind on that idea.
ReplyDeleteInstead how about you and Ben teaching your new friends this fabulous American song? "Wheels on the bus go round and round..."
Hurray!!I just got an email from Ben that you made it to Buagyi! Praying you all the way there!!Love you all!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the great posts Doug! It's fun following the team's progress. Keep up the good work and know that we're praying for all of you and the mission you are serving. (btw, ask Darwin if I can pheasant hunt on his land while he's gone. ;o)
