Hillcrest Church and Falls Community Church have joined together to bring the Gospel as well as humanitarian aid to a remote village in Southern Sudan. The people of Southern Sudan have been devastated by the long civil war and genocide over religious freedom. Food security is the most important need in the area we are traveling to. We are going to help the village of Kalalayi build a farm that can sustain the village and produce enough extra as to sell in the local markets.

Oh the joys of packing!
We leave for Sudan in 11 days. There is a tub sitting in my living room filled with things that are supposed to be fitting into a travel bag of some sort. It has clothes, the infamous trowel, headlight courtesy of Jandie as flashlights don't work well in the dark with aforementioned latrine situation, a journal, bible, filtered water bottle which still needs to be primed,(whatever that means), travel pillow, microfiber washcloth, medications, hat bought while shopping with my daughter-in-law Stephanie( which has a whole story of it's own), a buff like they wear on Survivor donated by John and Erin(son and daughter-in-law) and has multiple functions (will include pictures of the various styles later), pictures of my family, 100% DEET I am hoping will not eat through my clothes and other contents of the bag, money pack, passport, waterless shampoo, first aid kit, mosquito net, toilet paper, lumbar pillow for the drive on the "road to Mundri", and....stuff. Seriously, packing the way I usually do, taking outfits of like color, books to read, rolled garments and toiletries bag just went out the window. I hate packing! Ben wants our bags ready for inspection on the 14th. Please pray for me. The obstacle before me now is not jet lag, heat and humidity, language barriers, or latrine situations. It is the dreaded packing monster. And he is eating me alive! Wonder if I could just put myself in the tub and forget the packing!
