We have arrived with surprises

We made it! We made it in about 4 1/2 hours. It's 8:00 PM and has been dark for a few hours. I will send pictures of the pit toilet, bathing location and outdoor kitchen tomorrow. Tonight I will show you one of the 15 two inch wide African spiders living in our doom (the school). I would show you pictures of the 4 scorpions that were there but they are mashed into goo.

We are going to eat chicken and rice tonight. We bought the chicken in Juba and the "juice" soaked into Deena's canvas suitcase during the whole ride and soaked her clothes.

We have landed in a new land that is very strange from home. Darren, Darwin and Ben are working to secure all our mosquito nets right now before supper is ready.

We are all in a state of shock. Please pray for our attitude and spirits.

  1. Man, I really wanted to see the scorpions! Praying for the adjustments that are necessary for all of you as you serve. Praying for all of your kidneys too as that rough of a ride can't be good for them!

  4. The verse for the day on the radio is Galatians 6:9 And let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary.
Just finished reading Seeing the Summit from Max Lucado's God Came Near. As long as our goal is within eyesight, there's no mountain we can't climb. All of you are awesome!
    I'm praying for all you.

  5. Ah, chicken juice mom? Didn't think about that one did we. Just goes to show you that it doesn't matter how much you plan, sometimes poultry just leaks all over your stuff. Hopefully you'll dry out fast and avoid animals that enjoy the scent. Praying for you all, love you mom.
