Hillcrest Church and Falls Community Church have joined together to bring the Gospel as well as humanitarian aid to a remote village in Southern Sudan. The people of Southern Sudan have been devastated by the long civil war and genocide over religious freedom. Food security is the most important need in the area we are traveling to. We are going to help the village of Kalalayi build a farm that can sustain the village and produce enough extra as to sell in the local markets.

Preparing........
WOW! Good morning all, I got up at 3am Sioux Falls time which is 11am Sudan time. I am trying to get a head start on the adjustment, I will let you know if it helped later. My boss has been so wonderful at allowing me flexability to adjust so that I can prepare for this trip. The closer it gets to leaving the more I am reminded of the Townships we saw in South Africa. It was really hard to see the conditions in which they lived, but the smiles and giggles of the children were no different then the children here. This is all they have ever known, but that does not help the odd feelings that spring up inside of me. It seems so wrong! I also remember that many times in one day God sent Rainbows to remind me that He was there in the midst of it all and that He did love them. I spent last night with my Bible study group, a group of the most AMAZING ladies EVER! I thank God for every one of you and I know that you are praying for us and for the village of Kalalayi, THANK YOU!! I keep praying that no matter what happens that the love of Jesus will shine so bright that the people there that do not know Him will be changed. Our God is AMAZING beyond words and I am honored to be one that is going on this trip!
