Hillcrest Church and Falls Community Church have joined together to bring the Gospel as well as humanitarian aid to a remote village in Southern Sudan. The people of Southern Sudan have been devastated by the long civil war and genocide over religious freedom. Food security is the most important need in the area we are traveling to. We are going to help the village of Kalalayi build a farm that can sustain the village and produce enough extra as to sell in the local markets.

SERIOUSLY!!
I am finally set up and have my account figured out, at least for this minute - by tomorrow I will completely forget everything I have learned! Yesterday I finally get home to pack my bags so that I can show up at church on Sunday at 9am as if I am ready to go to the airport. I am in charge of the TECHNICAL items on our trip'the Satellite phone, Ditgital camera, and the camcorder. We have a solar panel in which to charge these items when in the village, so I have all the 12v car charger options. Wanting to make sure I have done all my homework and investigating I had one last task to do and that is to see if the solar panel will charge the Satelite phone, so I get the 12v cord out go to plug it into the solar panel plug and the metal piece on the side of the 12v charge bends up on the out side of the female end of the solar panel instead of going inside it!!! I FREAK out! I call Deena on the verge of bawling my eyes out and she calms me down, tells me to call the company I rented it from and to call her back. I call Gregg the person I have been working with and he says that he is certain they can get a new one federal expressed to me by Tuesday morning but in the meantime is there anyone that I know that is mechanical. OF COURSE my husband Art. Well Art finally arrives home 30 min before we are to be at my grandson's birthday party - I am STRESSED by this point. He takes the cord into the garage and comes back into the house about 10 min later saying that the metal piece is now broken in half!! I just keep saying "God, Seriously this is not happening"! So we leave that sitting on the table, go to the birthday party, then I drive to Sibly to see my best friends new baby, and plopped into bed completely exhausted at 11pm. Sunday after church we all go thru the items that the church had bought for us to take to Sudan and get it all divided and packed. I still have not said anything about the cord to Doug or Ben, just praying that the company will be able to ship a new one by Tuesday morning. I finally get home today at 2:30pm and my husband says - I fixed the cord, it works! I tested it and it fit in the solar panel plug, it was charging the Satellite phone and I even have a spare that will be shipped. GOD IS AMAZING - and of course so is my Husband Arthur!!
